Tuscany in Texas Driving Tour

Tuscany in Texas Driving Tour

Time again for us to travel the winding roads of Italy here in southeast Texas!

Registration is now through Sunday, October 8th at 11 pm on ClubRegistration.net.

Saturday, October 21st, we will meet at the Spring Valley Starbucks on I-10 (Google Map) at 7:45 am to enjoy convoying a day of twisted hill country back roads.

We will drive through historic Bellville, Fayetteville, Bastrop, Butler, Bartlett, and Florence on the way to Flat Creek Winery near Marble Falls.

We stop on the way for lunch at the Paige Roadhouse where burgers, salads, homemade brownies and homemade apple pie is available on the menu. Your choice of menu items and you pay.

Our event ends with a tour of the Flat Creek Winery. The rolling hills and vineyards make you think that you are in the Tuscany countryside!

Then an educated wine tasting, followed by a three-course, wine-paired dinner.

Dinner is in the winery’s Tuscan Hill Country inspired Bistro which features a native stone fireplace, granite wine bar, vineyard mural and amazing views of the rolling hills. The gourmet menu features Texas Tuscan Cuisine (a beef filet entrée) that compliments Flat Creek’s award-winning wines.

A bonus. You will receive a 15% discount on any 3+ bottles of wine purchased to take home.

Need a special diet? Call the winery at 512.267.6310 for arrangements.

The fee for the event is $10 per car. The link for the optional tour / tasting / dinner is $80 per person (tip and taxes are included). It is limited to the first 64 people who register and make payment.

There will be a wait-list to accommodate last-minute cancellations and additions.

After dinner, a fun 30-minute drive through the crazy-curvy country roads (yes, we are still on Daylight Savings Time until November 5th). The drive will take us to the beautiful town of Marble Falls.

For those staying overnight, please book your own lodging RSVP from the many hotels and B&B’s in Marble Falls.

For those staying overnight, the route home on Sunday is open, but consider including the scenic and thrilling Devil’s Backbone, a 51-mile loop east of Blanco to Wimberly.

This has proven to be a popular event in the two previous years, so register soon!
